It's pretty light as in cheap feeling. It's really hard to use. I haven't made a single flushed knot yet and I've tried with made stringing materials.I make & sell beaded & knotted accessories, but also have sensitive joints. I needed something to help with the knotting, so I could actually use my hands the next day. I found this crazy thing here, looked at many youtube videos on it & then gave it a try.I found it decently easy to use, after a bit of practice, & gets kind of addictive! The youtube videos make it look more complicated than it is. I find I use it for the reason I bought it, when my hands are fussy & sensitive.A few design issues: it's mostly hollow plastic & very lightweight, so it scoots around & tips over easily when in use (something I don't want to wrestle with in the middle of a beading/knotting project). The plastic hooked tab over the needle area seems like it could break somewhat easily, if tension were pulled on it wrong. The rounded "arm" across the top can get in the way. The hollow, hard plastic base clatters loudly (I'm sensitive to sharp sounds) when beads bum into it & could possibly scratch or chip some beads.I plan to add some weight to the underside (could easily fill it with plaster of paris), plus a grippy rubber base, to help keep it in one place, when it's being used. I glued a piece of soft fleece fabric to the top surface of the base, so beads don't clack, scratch or chip when they drop through. I use it, placed on a tilted topped drafting table, so it's tilted forward a bit, allowing the beads to slide forward, so I don't have to kinda reach inside or tip it forward to get to the knotted strand. For the price, it seems fine, after a bit of retrofitting. I think it could be fine tuned in some design & function areas, but it does help spare my fingers on sensitive hand days.I lost it when I lost my treasured jewelry because of a faulty latch. I made my first piece with this device. When my faulty latch caused it to fall off I didn't have to embarrassingly chase 52 beads around my workplace. They were knotted like a string of expensive pearls. Thank you.I love it! I don't know why anyone would leave a negative review. I'm craft challenged but I have a lot of creative ideas and visions but my engineering of those ideas needs a lot of work! I was getting frustrated day after day practicing knotting and first time I used this so happy! I have issues with my hands too from repetitive strain injury which affects my strength and endurance over time which further complicates fine manipulation. This made it so much easier on my hands which frankly is important to me, even more so than having consistent knots. If I had to play devils advocate it is sort of light plastic. I would love to see a weighted model that sits securely in place. And if the manufacturer reads this review, that weighted model should have that grip stuff underneath it which makes it suction in place. Sort of like this craft size vice I have for drilling. Anyhow just an idea. I will happily use it until a heavier model comes available. If my story sounds at all like you I highly recommend this item! The directions were confusing but that's mainly because I don't read little diagrams well and I highly recommend watching the you tube video instruction which is very easy to see what is going on. As soon as you made one knot you will get it and Won't likely need the instructions anymore anyhow. After a little bit of practice, I’m almost a pro!First time stringing pearls for me. This is a must have! Took getting used to but it’s a great little tool for knotting silk thread.I have not learn to use this as yet.I plan to master it tho. This is a nice tool. Only complaint is, is that it's way to light. I am going to get a piece of either a heavy board or a thick plywood that I can attach it to. I am a guy and have a tendency to pull a little to hard. My fingers tend to be a little clumsy to do tight knots. This really helps out on tying knots.Cheaply manufactured, a portion of it is actually just glued in that you would pull against. I don't see this lasting long! Pictures to be added.Very difficult to use very dissapointedThis is okay but since buying it I have found out how to tie close up knots by just using tweezers from watching a u tube video. I think this is quite expensive for what it isWow! So easy to use, I'm still perfecting my technique but I can't wait to use this on a my nearly purchased potato pearls.Love it helps with bead knotting so much easier thank you and quick delivery too
