I read the reviews before ordering, and some were not so hot, some really good, then I found one that seemed most honest and to the point. so I ordered one. Right out of the box I started on my pretty baby, and to my surprise, she didn't seem bothered with this one. I did what one person said and moved from spot to spot so I wouldn't irritate her skin. (don't know if that's true or not, just didn't take any chances) I had to get her outside pretty quick as there was TONS of hair coming out with each stroke!Now for the "bad"? There's really nothing bad to me; they are right that the cover that comes with it doesn't fit or stay on, but I just put it up where I would be the only one to get it, and covered the teeth with a small paper bag! This particular size is for large dogs with short hair, which is what I have. It's a little wide when your're combing legs or such, but that's not too bad and you may want to look for one a bit smaller; or not. I was a little put off by the price at first, but so glad I went ahead with my order. I paid $16 and would definitely do it again!Hope my review helps a little!I have a 80 pound Black Lab, He Sheds like crazy, I brushed him daily with a slicker brush and still our home was covered in fur, we had to vacuum daily. This brush pulls so much fur out its incredible. The effectiveness of this brush cannot be overstated. When It first arrived I ran the slicker brush through him and little fur came out, I then brushed him for 20 minutes straight with the Furminator before the clumps of hair quit coming out. This brush is a must have for every dog owner. Duke also seemed to like it, he doesn't like being brushed with the slicker, but he sat there calmly while I brushed him with this thing.. Also I bought the Giant size.....its not that giant, I would recommend this size to any large breed dog owner, labs on up, not just super large breeds. This is the most impressive new product I have bought in years, so much so, I felt compelled to immediately get on Amazon to write a review. Don't settle for another brand to try and save money like I almost did....just fork out the cash and get this brush, you will not regret it.I saw this at petco.com where I normally do all of my pet shopping. there it was 70.00 . I had heard great things about it but to be honest for 70.00 I thought I would rather put up with some dog shedding. I'm not sure why I even looked but I did and found it here on Amazon for under 20.00. I immediately ordered it. Let me warn you my dog is 1 year old and he did not like this at all at first. he even snuck it out of its hiding place and chewed up the handle. lol. but eventually he learned to relax and now he loves it ! so do I. I am amazed at the amount of hair that comes off of him. hes a great dane/ hound mix. his belly is just about bald. and I didn't expect much shedding but due to his size I knew we would see it. This is a miracle ! the only advice I can give you is be patient. it took about 3 times before he decided he likes it. I guess it took me about the same amount of time. so now we use it once a week. chewed up handle and all. works great !!We have many small dogs and as well a Bully, an Staff and 2 Fila Brasilero where the male is always smelling very strong. After reading the reviews we decided on this product. Lisa my wife used it on the male and got so many old hair out, we never thought about before. The vet told us it is because of strong hormons of the Fila male that he smells so strong. If you see a Fila with his short hair, touch it, you never come to the idea that loose hair is under this anyway very short hair. But after we got out so many old hair using the tool, we are 100% positive that the strong smell is much less actually. So we are happy with the product and would recommend it. We bought one more from a competitior for long hair but would rather spend the money on this more expensive product if we know before what we know now...:)I really can't say enough about this product. I have two huge dogs and I chase hair all day every day. I've used the traditional rake for years, but kept hearing about the wonders of the Furminator. Finally succumbing to my resistance to spend so much on a fur brush, I bought one and couldn't be more pleased. I have a Mastiff with 'Fluffy Coat' and a Rottie. They blow their coats 2-4 times a year and require almost daily grooming. The Furminator makes that task easy and the dogs love it too. Be careful not to push too hard, because those little spines are sharp and will scratch your pooch. The Furminator does such a good job of removing dead fur and stimulating the skin. If you want a product that works, lasts and delivers on it's promise to work, this is the one for you.I'm very impressed with this product. In first use itself, I saw tremendous result. My 5yrs old labrador, sheds a lot of hair. I have had used many other solutions e.g. metal thin comb, true touch rubber gloves, shampoo and even I shaved my dog's hair. Ppl who are dealing with their pets dead hair falling all over the house... Get Furminator ??Important: the pack comes with an instructions note. Please read that carefully b'coz these combs aren't like normal comb and you could hurt your lovely pet's skin if not use properly.I was dealing with the problem of shedding of my two labs since last one year. I searched the whole internet and found the reviews of Furminator quite promising. Other deshedding tools were quite expensive. However this one fits my pocket. I ordered one and used it the same day. The product is quite heavy and sturdy giving it a good grip while using. You have to be gentle while using it as it has sharp ends. Dont dig to deep as it can cause abrasions to their skin. Just use like a comb very slowly and gently. And the inner coat was completely gone. My pets still shed but if you use it every 3-4 days you can get rid of excess hair. Now they come inside the house and I don't have to worry about the carpet being spoiled.Product is really good. I have Labrador, no matter how many times you brush them they will shed. But now its much better situation. Before she used to shed in bulk now she loose some hair throughout the day but not too much.Brush gently though it is very sharp might scratch the skin.This product specially which you buy for Rs.700 is not made up of stainless steel..its teeths are definitely made up of iorn so, you have to be very careful as it can get rusted if placed openly. It works well in dogs shedding it will reduce 60 to 70% of shedding hairs if you brush your dog once or twice daily. You have to be very careful while you brush your dog with this furminator as its teeths are very sharp so you have to be very gentle while brushing. The hair ejector on this brush is not that good..hairs will not get ejected easily you have to remove those hairs with your hands aften.This does a really good job of de-shedding the dog, the fine teeth are great for removing under the coat frizzy hair. Don't press to hard though as it scrapes the dog's skin - learned the hard way by scraping the dog and left bloody scabs...
