This tool is similar to Polaris tool 2871056 but requires modification in order to be used, and you need to cut off 5/8" of shaft in order to use. Once modified, works perfectly to remove XP 900/1000 driven (secondary) clutch.Tool is (somewhat) hardened steel, can be cut by hand (hacksaw, approx. 20 mins.), cutoff saw/wheel, or equivalent. You may want a grinder to true it up and chamfer the tip.Once modified, works like a charm in removing the DRIVEN (secondary) clutch, this tool is NOT for the drive (primary) clutch, that is a separate tool.Polaris recommends applying a light film of grease to the shaft spines on reinstallation of clutch. This helps prevent rusting of the shaft, and aids in future removal if needed. See Polaris shop manual for details, torque specs, etc.
