Long review. Trying to be though for you! I purchased sterling straw, no overlay. I purchased to rehabilitate my voice after nodules resolved and I was released from SLP therapy. Product is beautifully packaged, especially if gifting! The quality is very nice, smooth and very well made. I was afraid the optional bead chain would be cheap and cheesy and break easily. It’s holding up very well; and the length is thoughtfully long enough to easily reach your mouth without removing and drapes beautifully when not using it to vocalize. It’s more narrow and offers more resistance than straws I had been using, but if you’re currently using coffee stir sticks, you’ll find this a perfect permanent replacement.I was wearing it openly, until a colleague suggested it looked like it was for an illicit purpose. I now tuck it inside my shirt unless I’m doing the therapy on my voice.A side comment on the additional benefits of sterling silver: I’ve read sterling is antibacterial. If you’re familiar at all with SOVT, you’ll know the straws get wet and drips with moisture from vocalizing. (There is a cleaning brush included in the purchase.) Between cleaning, I’ve never noticed any odors and feel that the sterling keeps it cleaner and germ free.Overall, I think the quality is well worth $100. I originally hesitated to buy it; and procrastinated for months because of the expenses when I could just continue using plastic or silicone reusable straws, but in the end, I’m really glad I bought the Ovoo.
