I got this for myself, but it would make a terrific gift for a golfer. I love it.This switchblade-style divot-tool is wonderful. Most divot tools are 1-piece designs that tend to poke holes in my pockets and jab my thigh, but this one has retractable tines, so it’s comfortable to carry and easy on my pants pockets. The black body of the tool seems to be made of sturdy aluminum (since it’s not magnetic) while the fork seems to be made of low-grade stainless steel (since it looks like stainless steel but it’s magnetic). The tool seems very sturdy with a tine-thickness of (~1/16”, 2mm). I expect this to be the only divot tool that I carry for the rest of my life. The divot tool has a built-in magnet that is set inside of a slight circular indentation such that it holds the steel ball-marker disc very tightly and flush so that the ball-marker won’t come off unless you pull it off. It would be difficult to remove the flush-mounted steel disc except that one side of the disc-indentation is deeper than the other side, such if you press down on the deep side of the disc, then the other side rises up thereby allowing you to easily remove the disc. It’s a very clever design and a great feature. The end of the tool has a semi-circular indentation such that the tool can be stabbed into the grass and serve as a stand-off so that you can set a club-grip on it (probably your putter or a 7-iron) in order to keep it off of wet grass,The divot tool has a strong switchblade action with sturdy, sharp tines. I was worried that it might violate California’s switchblade law, but CA’s law allows switchblades that have blades that are less than 2”. This divot tool’s tines are 1.75”.
