Works perfect and much easier than the fancy toolsMade for this. Only thing I don’t like is the larger plates you need if working on a bigger caliper they are tricky to line up. Over all recommended for pros and shade tree mechanics alike.I will admit, my first brake job using this tool was a little frustrating. Trying to JUST get the tool started, expanding was goofy to me. I found that holding the tool and squeezing it (with light but firm pressure) while I'm ratcheting-it-out to the necessary width, works best. See the pic.Once you start this way, you just keep checking the width of the tool, by setting it inside the gap within the caliper. Once the plates on the tool have expanded enough to slide-in RIGHT NEXT TO the exposed piston...then the tool can be inserted into the caliper, and expanded without you holding it. From there, its gravy. You just slowly ratchet the tool to compress the piston all the way back into the caliper. Done.To Remove: Simply flip the switch on the handle, ratchet-it-back once or twice to retract the plates, and the tool comes right-out of the caliper. My Experience: The tool has worked really well, once I understood how to use it. I'm very happy with it so far. I've done 5 brake jobs with it already, so I think that it's paid for itself. The (2) included caliper hanger hooks are a plus too. I use them every time now. Better than using zip ties, IMO. ; )I've used vice grips and c-clamps and all the other home methods on brake calipers in the past. This tool beats them all! The only two complaints, and they are minor ones is that the magnets they use to attach the metal plates for larger calipers aren't anywhere near strong enough to hold them to the tool. They keep falling off or out of position. The other problem is it doesn't expand enough for large calipers like on my F250. I had to use the old brake pad as a spacer. In my opinion, those are minor when compared to how easy this tool makes doing brake jobs. I recommend getting one. It's well worth the money.Makes the caliper portion of a brake job a cake walk now. Used to use a C clamp and now only use this tool.I ordered the item after reading the description and wanting to use it on my jeep for a brake change. The unit arrived as expected and when I went to use it - it was too large to fit into a traditional caliper for any of the cars I own. My truck and my R8 have huge brakes but the smallest setting was too large. They accepted the return so I have no complaint about the service at all. Just wish it was clearer in the description.Wow!! This is one of the best tools to be created in the last century! Yes, I know I'm exaggerating, but am I really? Seriously, no more C clamps, channel locks etc....this tool makes returning the brake pistons back into the caliper an effortless, seamless experience.1 month plus 5 days in, I used these on a 2021 Dodge Challenger today and when pulling the handle back the bearing locked up and when I applied a little force forward thinking it would go back to normal the bearing no longer wants to rotate and it is completely locked. Great tool overall besides my above statement, I got around 32 brake jobs in between the time I got them and today. Worth buying if you're doing at home jobs or helping your neighbors. I utilized this tool on a day to day basis with single and double piston calipers, believe me or not I got these to work on a 4 piston (Mustang 5.0) ?Very easy to use.
