I needed a 12" radius block to make a neck for a '57 Les Paul Junior I recently made. I wanted a block longer than the 4" or 6" blocks and I did not want to spend the money on a SM "pro" sanding block. This block measures just under 8" long. This one worked perfectly for a fraction of the cost of the SM and I don't see how a more expensive sanding block could perform better, or last longer. I'm very happy with the purchase and highly recommend this block if you're thinking of venturing down the guitar build path.
