Park Tool CCP-44 Bicycle Crank Puller – Shimano Octalink, ISIS Drive The Park Tool CCP-44 Crank Puller is a purpose-built tool for removing crank arms from bicycles with 3-piece cranks that use an M12 or M14 crank bolt, including Shimano Octalink , ISIS Drive , and ISIS Overdrive systems. The CCP-44 uses a long, comfortable handle and extra fine thread that provides the needed leverage to remove even the tightest cranks. The strong rotating tip system ensures smooth operation and long life. For crank arms that use an M8 crank bolt, such as square taper use the Park Tool CCP-22 or CWP-7 . So I have used this on a few different applications and love it. It's sturdy and is pretty easy to use. The "plastadip" style grip comes off to easy and isn't as think as I would need it. I do have to crank pretty hard though.Paid for itself with its first use, kept me from dealing with Peletons 3rd party repair service for warranty work who I might add will give you the run around. This simple tool is just what you need to remove the 3 piece bike crank hub bolt. Great price, sturdy and substantial. Any Park tool is top quality.Like another reviewer said I used a towel on the handle but it pulled the crank off my Peloton with no problemMy peloton right crank arm was stripped due to poor installation of the pedal from the manufacturer. Pedal fell off rendering the bike useless. I was overnighted the replacement parts but have been waiting 5 days to hear from a service technician ( still waiting). Needless to say this tool allowed me fix the bike myself last night and get back to riding. Great product !This helped fix my peloton pedals that were faulty when I purchased the bike. This crank arm saved me so much time waiting for the repairmen to come out, which would’ve taken a month. Easy to useThe right tool for older generation Shimano splined bottom bracketsMy Peloton started making a clunking noise that was getting progressively worse. Peloton customer support told me the cranks needed to be aligned. However the problem was clearly the bottom bracket was coming loose. The assembly match mark was no longer aligned and the bottom bracket could be turned by hand. Using the Park Tool BBT-18 and CCP-44C I was able to reinstall the bottom bracket and eliminate the clunking. Ended up having to do it a second time using thread lock but now it is problem free.I knocked a star off because the inner "race" of the CCP-44C unexpectedly pops out. I wish it was more secure. The first time it popped out I didn't notice. I found the inner part on the floor and was confused about where it came from. With some force it pops back in and the tool continues to function. As others note an OCTOGANAL 36mm socket is needed for the BBT-18.Got this as a crank extractor for my Trek Powerfly Bosch motor electric bike. My other crank extractor would not work as it did not have the larger end on, and went inside the hole inside the cranks so would not force the crank arm off. This has a disc on the end of the bit you screw inside so is wide enough not to go down the hole.My mate borrowed it for his Cannondale ebike and it worked nicely there also.Product completely failed to remove crank. It did manage to break part of itself off and then strip the threads out of the crank arm.Have had to take the bottom bracket out and replace that as well now.Bought this based on a friends recommendation of 'Park tools' but we've concluded they're yet another cheap, useless brand trending on a once favourable name - either that or this is a fake.Don't buy this item unless purely as a paperweight or for decorationThis worked really well, removing cranks that had been in place and seizing on for 15 years. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the rotating part that presses against the Bottom Bracket fell off after one use - but I don't think that will stop the tool from working just as well, I just need to be careful not to lose that piece.Park Tools are excellent quality and work well. Worth the extra cost over the Chinese made junk often sold on Amazon.Brill
