Description
Easy To Use Vinyl Siding Removal ToolVinyl siding is durable and easy to maintain, but when it does become damaged, the convenience of a repair is diminished with how difficult it is to keep the wall and other panels from getting damaged. The hidden joints are definitely the biggest challenge that no screwdriver or hammer can successfully tackle. This where this purposely designed siding removal tool or zip tool comes in. With a bend at the perfect angle, the zip tool will allow you to get under both the top and bottom edges of the vinyl siding. Your wall and vinyl siding will thank you for this tool! And you'll even get to reuse the undamaged vinyl sidings!Push the siding removal tool's blade under a hole at the bottom edge of the siding. This hole is specifically designed for the zip tool to slide through. If you can locate this hole, you can look for a loose area along the length of the siding's bottom edge. The vinyl siding panels overlap over what's called the J-channels. Sliding through the edge of the vinyl panel, you can gain access to the back lip of the channel. Hook the tool onto the back lip, pull down, and then away to unhook the newly released back lip.Slide the tool back to the siding through the new opening and repeat the previous steps to release the entire length of the channel. To release the top joint, follow the same process above. Once removed, you can easily lift the panel from the bottom edge and expose the nailing hem.The zip tool's usefulness does not end there. You can also use the zip tool to interlock the J-channel of the upper panel and top lock joint of the newly installed panel. To do this, you need to use the tool to grab the lip of the J-channel and pull it onto the top locking edge of the panel below it. This is while you are also pushing from the outside to snap the joint lock in place.
