I'm not an everyday drywall guy, but when I do install drywall, I go CRAZY! Yeah. Been using my rotozip for way too many years past it's lifespan. It had a cord. Always felt like a ball and chain, ya know? Lost its positive locking button years ago so I used an old worn out bit to fill the hole when changing out bits. Well, I had had enough of messing around with this and went ahead against the wishes of the Mr's and snuck this bad boy in my cart one day. Amazon, always delivers me my goods. I love my supplier. She gets me my goods quick and on time. Oh, don't get your undies in a bundle. I'm talkin' bout Amaze-on. I'm starting to think my local hardware stores don't like me anymore because of how many tools I buy from Bezos and Co. Anyway...........this thing works great, has a built-in light that comes in quite handy, and is tool-less when it comes to changing out bits. Not the greatest feature because you need a degree in physics to figure out how to operate the loosening and tightening mechanism in order to use the damn thing........buuuuuuuuut, when you do, you're golden! I'd buy two if I knew they'd be discontinuing these things one day in the near future. Well, maybe I'll hold off until they make the bit changing ordeal a little better, Idk.......It's a little bulky but the size does give ample room to place two hands to hold it. The motor is quick and made fast work of some outlet cut outs in new drywall. The depth measurement was very quick and easy to adjust and didn't come lose while in use. I switched to a 2amp hour battery because the 5amp and bigger would take a toll on my arms and shoulders if you have to use this up high or overhead for a long period of time.Does not come w battery as stated great for the value and discount weighs as expected my fiance does drywall he needed thisMuy duradera, fuerteEl precio debería ser menoThis makes cutting holes for lighting, outlets etc very easy.If you do any kind of drywalling or have a big remodeling project with drywall get this tool!PROS - cuts out windows, outlets, etc. beautifully - If you have small pieces of drywall that are around the mentioned above openings (1" or so) you can fully accomplish the cut without breaking the drywall! Making for a super clean look. - easy bit removal - quick, accurate and much more time friendly than measuring, marking, cutting etc.CONS: - A guide bit does not come with the tool! Absolutely necessary to do quality work. - No dust control - loud, use ear protection - The depth adjustment seems a little flimsy to me, waiting to see if it will break at some point..This was faulty at point or receipt. Upon first use it burned out a very expensive De Walt battery. Still awaiting refund . Steer clear of this . Absolute waste of money.Good for drywall. As a tool that’s consistently on for a minute or 2 at a time it will drain your batterys. You’ll need 3-4 2.0 AH battery’s for 1 day of use, 2 4.0 AH battery’s for 1 day of use.Lots of dust gets in around the fan area and will make it sound worn out after 6 months of use but for the price it’s not to bad to get replaced if needed. If you drop it (which you probably will do) it has a high chance of landing on the bit snapping it and along with could screw up the top black part that helps you “Change the bit without tools” if that gets banged hard enough it will break off and you’ll have to something else to change your bits afterward. Ive dropped mine a few times and it’s lose and bends like it wants to break off. All it takes is good 1 drop.Battery life is the wrong assessment tool here. All of Dewalts 20v batteries are phenomenal. THIS product is the tool only. So naturally if you purchase it. You will need to invest in a battery and charger as well, separately. So don’t buy, expecting to pull out of the box and carve your family name into your rentals walls! That being said! This lik’guy is useful as hell. When used properly. It delivers an accuracy that a jab saw does not. A tool does not make a competent tradesperson but it sure as heck helps having something that is well balanced and delivers consistent and durable performance! The DEWALT line of tools is my go to for everything. Right down to colour selection. The black and yellow make it STAND OUT amongst the rest as you don’t need to look hard for your gear when you put it down on a busy job site. That’s it. Worth the investment folks!Mine broke after a day of use. It’s hard to adjust. I recommend to watch videos on YouTube before buying it on how to use it.Unfortunately I bought it several months before using it. I have to contact the walt directly if I want a refund. I can’t even find the box anymore...So far it’s the only the walt tool I own who turned to be the worst investment in my tool box!No idea what so these people are talking about the tool less bit change. I'm a pro, and my team are pros, we all thought that this was genius and EASY to use. Two hands and WAY faster than getting the wrench to do it. You can do it on the spot.Compared to the makita router this one has way more control. Doesn't spin as fast as the makita, but with the window and door but for drywall, it's as if you are cutting through air. Light and small diameter to fit your hand. Excellent.Unsure about the longevity of the tool yet, seems like the motor is pretty exposed to dust, will probably need more maintenance than your standard router.
