I needed to remove the outer bearing races from the steering neck of my Moto Guzzi V7 motorcycle. After several tries with various "home-made" tools--long punch, big screwdriver, socket extension, pipe, close fitting socket, etc.--I bought this tool after seeing it used on several YouTube videos. It worked perfectly: it snapped in to place instantly and the race was out with a few hammer blows in about 10 seconds. Even if I didn't have other bikes that I might need it for someday, this tool would still be worth the price for a one-time use.It is not just for bicycles. It is very heavy-duty and should work on any accessible car or motorcycle bearing race with an OD of about 50 mm or less. Even rusty races will probably yield to an onslaught form this device.Don't waste time and risk damage messing around with make-do implements. This is the right tool for the job. This was designed to remove 1 1/8” to 1 1/4” cups. Tool very well constructed and the fins did not feel flimsy. Works well. More expensive but happy with the qualityThis tool made steering head race removal a breeze. The design is perfectly simple yet very effective. Just slide tool through steering head, pointy end first, until the flared end catches the race. After a couple of whacks with the heavy hammer the tool will seat against the lip of the race and before you know it your race is rolling around on the floor.Very well built product. Sturdy and professional looking tool, however, if the taper just under the race is next to nothing this tool will not work. I tried to modify it to get it to grab the race with no luck. The RT-1 fits 1", 1-1/8" and 1-1/4" headsets (27–38mm), I've used it on several 1" and 1-1/8" headsets in the process of building and refurbishing various steel and aluminum bikes. For the stubborn headsets, I used this in conjunction with a large rubber mallet.Park Tools usually makes a good product, and I liked that the strike point was also made of metal instead of some kind of pressfit plastic piece. It's made of heat treated alloy steel with a nice nickel finish and looks and feels like it will stand up to more abuse than some of the other removers out there. It's proven itself.Works goodPretty simple tool. Easy to use.High quality tool. Does the job right and lasts. Far better tool than the cheap knock offsHad to remove the steering head races from a KDX220r. Got a block of wood (bigger face to hit bar with, so less chance of smacking my hand), inserted this.... a few hits later the races are out with minimal fuss.Does the job. Pricey for what is effectively a bit of tube with a flared legs at one end... but it’s tough and will last years.Excellent for the removal of headset cupsWell made and reassuringly sturdyDer Austreiber erfüllt bestimmt seinen Zweck aber:Einer der Arme war unsauber verarbeitet. Hier standen spitze Ecken ab und n mussten mit der Feile bearbeitet werden. Zudem sind die Arme sehr stark gespreizt, so dass er schwerfällig durch den Steuersatz kommt. Beim durchziehen hinterläßt er deutliche Riefen in der Lagerschalen Innenseite.Die Kanten sind scharf.I use this to change steering bearings in my motorcycles. So much easier than than banging away with a punch. Pull it through till it seats on the outer race and with one tap the bearing is out. No chance to get the bearing skewed and damage anything.Pk
