I spent a little extra on this tool because I wanted something that was all-metal and more compact, unlike many of the plastic ones that are available. Unfortunately, I could not successfully remove the screwdriver (Allen/Phillips) attachment from the housing. It would not budge when trying to pull it straight out as shown in the packaging diagram. I also tried gently tapping the protruding Phillips head with a rubber mallet to see if I could "push" it out that way. Still would not move. I attempted some gentle prying with a flathead screwdriver and a pocket knife, but it sits so flush to the housing that you can't really squeeze anything in there. Eventually I tried needle-nose vise grips, which is honestly a ridiculous amount of effort for a skate tool, and just ended up breaking it.In hindsight, maybe I should've sprayed some WD-40 or other lubricant in the area where the ball bearing locks the screwdriver in place. But again, this all seems like a lot of work for a simple tool with some tiny ball bearing locks. The socket attachment comes out easily, so I'm giving it two stars in the hopes that part will continue to work. I'd almost give it three stars, but I'm losing two tools and it cost me $17. For that price, I might as well just buy the cheap skate tools and replace them as they break. Aluminum is apparently not much better than plastic in this case. Also, read the return policy for the seller you buy it from. I was going to initiate a return on this item, but the seller requires it to be unused and in the packaging. So, if you break it, you buy it - even if you couldn't operate it as intended. This is by far the best tool for setting up and maintaining your board. It has a nice compact design when not being used and has friction fittings that keeps everything securely in place. Don't waste your money on the cheaper versions that come loose without the friction fit.Note: The worn look is intentionally. I believe it is referred to as a tumbled finish. It looks really cool and am not sure why other reviewers are complaining.Nothing but praise for this tool. It checks all the boxes1. Sturdy (All metal with spring loaded bearings)2. Affordable3. Fits all the nuts and screws4. Compact5. SimpleThis is my only go to tool. I can’t speak for the others made of plastic. Personally, I don’t care for the ratchet versions competitors offer as they add more complicated parts that can fail. After doing some research, I bought this tool for for skateboarding son. I knew nothing about the sport, but I wanted to give something significant to him for Christmas. I purchased several items that seemed useful to the sport and every one of them made me the best mother ever! The Paris tool was the biggest hit. Supposedly this is a hot item and a necessity. It's reputation preceded it as my son lit up when he saw it.A must have when purchasing any skateboard to keep your trucks tight on the go!I’ve used quite a few skate tools in my life and this by far the absolute best. It’s built solidly, the machining is precise so all the parts fit together and stay together when using it (unlike other similar tools at slightly lower price). The finish is a little “meh” and it comes looking a little beat up (scratches and marks), but this doesn’t in any affect the tool’s performance. This is much better than the bulky plastic tools.Very compact when disassembled and very sturdy when assembled. Feels like a quality product and works well. It's slim and all-metal. It can access all the parts and turn fully without getting hemmed up like some of the bulky plastic shapes. This is the tool you're looking for. This thing is solid. It collapses down to fit in my pocket so I can take it with. Too easy to use and exactly what I need. I have it on me anytime I ride from now on.Great skate tool. A bit more expensive than the plastic ones but it’s really well built and well designed. Easy to carry around, sturdy and will fit into the tightest of truck spaces. Worth the extra few bucks. Just sorry I wasted money on cheaper ones in the past before deciding to finally get this one.Only thing that would improve it for some skaters would be an axle re-threader, but I’m not good enough to wreck my trucks and wheels to the point where I really need that anyway.Worth paying a little more for. The plastic body ones I’ve had keep breaking (the metal bends in the plastic)
