I've never used anything other than piping bags, so this was a first for me using a handheld tool, but I was like, my goodness gracious this was so easy to use. I absolutely love this tool it's easy to clean it's great for all kinds of uses like a filling cupcake, for deviled eggs, for decorating cakes, cupcakes even cookies. I'm not a veteran baker, but I think if I can use it anyone can. Easy use and easy to clean and you don't have to worry about throwing piping bags away.I am a "Covid baker" so, while I now bake regularly, I am not a highly-accomplished baker and I do so primarily for recreation. In addition, my granddaughters like to join in from time-to-time. So, I was looking for an easy-to-use piping tool that had a modest set of tips, children would have fun using, and would suit my not-too-demanding needs. The first timewe used this, my granddaughters frosted 3 dozen cupcakes I baked and had a blast doing it. The rigid cylinder and thumb-controlled plunger was easier to control than a piping bag (think of an easy-to-use caulking gun). Very little mess or wastage and easy to clean. This product checks all the boxes. I am pleased with this purchase. This is a fun tool for filling cream puffs. Cream puffs are so easy to make, but a real pain to fill without this tool. A little bit messy, but probably with practice will get better.Absolutely love this tool. Super simple to figure out and clean. I was once a messy froster/ decorator/ filler, but now I'm basically a pro.Product is easy to assemble and disassemble. I use it mostly for filling deviled eggs, and it works perfectly for me.I gifted this for a friend along with an apron and some sprinkle, it was a well received gift for someone who loves to make cupcakesI am a novice (if that) when it comes to dessert decorating. Typically I choose to make desserts that require no decorating whenever baking for the office, friends, or extended family. It was only due to lack of time to meet with a bakery to discuss my options for my son's birthday party that I decided to take on making the 5 dozen cupcakes, frosting and all. I ordered the Wilton Dessert Decorator Plus because; 1) Reading all of the reviews from more experienced decorators named Wilton as the name to trust for these types of products, 2) I've dried bags in the past and it got a bit messy and I apparently am not coordinated enough to hold/squeeze the bag while directing the icing placement, and 3) It appeared to be dummy proof and something I couldn’t mess up too bad.I appreciated that this was less cumbersome than a bag but unfortunately I didn't realize how little frosting/icing it holds and dispenses before needing to be refilled. I don’t think I made it much past 6-8 small cupcakes before needing to refill. Luckily though, the tube is clear and you can easily see how much you have left, and could estimate whether or not one last cupcake could be done before needing the refill. I did get a few air bubbles here and there, but nothing serious enough that it marred the overall look of the frosting. I found I couldn’t prevent the air bubbles too much without pressing the plunger in, which inevitably pushed the frosting out the tip. Perhaps that was simply my lack of finesse for this type of thing and will improve as I use it more often.Speaking of using it more often, this was so easy to use and to clean, that I think I will use it any time I need to decorate a dessert rather than reverting back to my old way of just grabbing a butter knife and spreading it on in one layer, and following back up to make a pattern and smooth any jagged frosting lines. I can see this coming in handy too, while in the kitchen with my 4 year old. It’s much more novice and kid friendly than a bag, so I won’t hesitate to allow him to do the decorating. Overall, this is a great tool, I would just like to see the capacity/volume increased for added convenience.Worked great for serving mousse. Easy to fill, quick to dispense, easy to clean. Each fill dispensed enough for 2 servings of mousse. I was able to make 30 servings in 30 minutes, that includes added fruit to each serving.I’m new to the icing task and wanted something easy and not complicated to use. I tried the bags and I’m not there yet. This device is like a syringe it is so easy to use and my results are getting better with practice. It all comes apart for easy cleaning. I absolutely love it. In my opinion it is great value formoney and strong enough to push the icing out. Hopefully I will perfect my icing skills thanks to this great productI'm a beginner. I've struggled with piping bags. I can never seem to fill them properly. Then they splurge ?. This is much easier to fill I found. I like the fact too, that further down the line if I wish, I can buy more nozzles separately too. There are more parts (obviously) than a piping bag. So it is a bit faffier to clean by hand. However, I just chuck it in the dishwasher and it's fine. There is also slightly more waste of buttercream than would be with a piping bag. But it's not a lot more.Warning: Do not screw the coupler on too tight or it will split a little ?.A few more nozzles to come with it would have been good. But, for the price I'm very happy. In fact, I ended up buying one for the mother in law too ?.I’m fairly new to decorating and found this tool so helpful. There’s lots of piping nozzles so you can make loads of designs. One issue was every now and again the icing would pop out and ruin the pattern, easily fixable with a knife though. Think how easy it is to clean depends on the icing you use as I used a chocolate butter cream which I struggled to get out of the tube, could be the cream rather than the product itself though. I definitely recommend this, it’s so much easier than a piping bag!Found this just so hard to use. I firstly used it to pipe double cream onto my cake but after a few pumps the cream almost turned into butter, it turned too thick. So I used it for vanilla icing but just found it difficult to use properly. Really wish I'd used an icing bag. Too cumbersome and fiddly.First up, I didn't get this for cake decoration so I'm not using it that way. The idea for me was to fill glasses with home made desserts that chill in the fridge - cheesecakes made with cream for example. The mixture has to be stiff so filling this device isn't all that easy.Cleaning is OK but not great. I noticed a chip out of it after a few uses. It hadn't been dropped and didn't arrive that way so I can only assume it has been done in the utensil drawer or while cleaning it. In other words, it's not that robust.
