I've been a fan of Brooks saddles for years but this was the first time I've purchased one of their bags. Every detail of this bag exudes quality and makes my old English bike look ten times better. I had this on my wishlist for about a year before I bought it because it was so pricey but after seeing it in person I have zero buyer's remorse. I expect this bag will last more than one lifetime and will only look better as it ages. Like their saddles, all of the maintenance required for the bag is a light application of Proofhide once or twice a year.Since the bag I replaced was much larger I was initially worried that it would be too small but there's plenty of room for all the tools I need to carry for longer rides, a tube patch kit, and a rain poncho. I like the fact that the straps run inside the bag, you can use them to help secure tools that would normally rattle around. Some of the older Brooks bags in the 40's and 50's had an ingenious quick release rod/pin that allowed you to remove the bag quickly and take it with you. I wish they still made them this way because my only fear is someone will take it when I have the bike locked up when I run short errands or stop for lunch on longer rides.I bought the Brooks Large Tool Bag hoping that it would fit my Foldylock Classic, because there's nowhere on my bike to mount the lock. I'm happy to report that it fits perfectly when I remove the lock from its case. The bag looks great with my Brooks B17 saddle and seems to possess the same Brooks quality.Granted, there's not room for much *else* in the bag with the FoldyLock inside, but that's fine for me. When I need to carry more stuff I'll mount my trunk bag.The bag perfectly matches my Brooks Flyer saddle, hanging on the loops behind the springs. It takes some effort to get the belts into the loops, however this only has to be done once. The bag is large, it protrudes on the sides beyond the width of the saddle, however it's entirely behind the saddle, so I don't notice it when I ride the bicycle. The cargo on the rear rack may touch it depending on the size. The bag is large enough for a multi-tool, few Allen wrenches, CO2 cartridge, inflator and a spare tube, so it holds a reasonably useful emergency kit. The only problem is, this kind of bag provides no security -- even if the bicycle is locked, thieves can get into it, or steal the bag itself. It’s expensive, but matches the Brooks saddle of the same color. There are cheaper bags out there, but they won’t match. It also looks soooo nice! The large has enough room for a reasonable amount of things - medium size phone, a few tools, a tube or 2 and co2. I’ve heard the small is pretty cramped, so I went with the large instead. No regrets! It is pricy but excellent. The material is great as is the hardware. Brooks makes a rain cover for their leather saddles but ought to have a cover for this also. I am using a shower cap.Like Brooks saddles, they are expensive but very well made.Good stuff.Love it. Great quality. Great looksThis is simply beautiful. It has a gorgeous honey luster. I suggest you treat it with mink oil before installing; this will help it resist rain and weather.Beautiful handmade product. Bought for my husbands birthday. Looks really nice with his black brooks seat. Quality product!Anything brooks is good, present for my wife.
