It did the job perfectly and I strongly recommend this tool. LUBE the threads A LOT before use. It is very well made. The design makes it MUCH safer than the spring compressors with just pins. I would NOT get anywhere near those, because the springs are extremely dangerous. Honestly, though, you may want to get the entire strut/spring assembly(quick strut) if a quality one is available, especially on a very high mileage vehicle, because all the other components are bound to be pretty worn, and you won't find out until you take the old strut apart, that, for example, the bearing at the top is completely chewed up. At least be ready for the possibility.
