Worth the price, this is a very well-machined set. I installed it on a Smithy CB-1220 XL that I've had since 1997. How did I get along without this accessory? Instead of T-nuts, the original Smithy tool post is mounted with a cap bolt that is machined with flats on two sides, and milling the included large square blank would have been tedious, so I opted to drill out and tap an oversized ½" nut, then mill it slightly to fit the recess on the bottom of the rest. The stud for this set, as has been mentioned, is 7/16" - 18, so I had to redrill the hole in the rest as well. Now I have a tap and a drill bit that I didn't have before, so it's all good. The studs holding the height adjustment wheel on a couple of the tool holders were not tightened all the way, so when I went to tighten the jam nuts, the setting changed. Note that the studs have Allen sockets, so you can snug them down in their holes before setting the height. I've used both 3/8" and ½" tools with no problems. The range of height adjustment is very generous.I had overlooked the inclusion of a two-wheel knurling tool— I misread the description to say it included just the holder, so that was a pleasant surprise. I tried it out on cold-rolled steel, and was delighted. The cut-off holder also includes a blade, another plus. Note that it is designed to use parallel blades rather than tapered ones. The post is held in place with a nut. After a while, I got tired of digging out a 3/4" wrench to change cutter position, so I turned out a threaded cap with a handle. Alternatively, you could weld a handle to the original nut. This set has already made a huge difference in the ease of setting up my lathe, and the price is right.
